May 24 – July 27

opening reception: Friday, May 24, 6 PM

Leisure is essentially anticapitalistic. It is anti-work; it does not create value. While often dismissed in the larger society as a mere pleasurable diversion, art institutions often put art to work, its job being to educate about societal ills. The exhibition Semiotics of Leisure promotes the subversive qualities of pleasure for artists and viewers. This exhibition responds to a surprising well-spring of artists concerned with activities that signify "free time" or "non-work."

Holophon Audio Arts Listening Station

Seasons, the inaugural project of Holophon and AGR's Listening Station, is a year long soundscape project featuring four members of the Holophon collective and four guests from the Regina sound art community. Each pairing individually presents their unique response to that season, potentially incorporating field recordings, sonic experimentation and journalistic composition.

The Listening Station is located in the hallway of the Neil Balkwill Civic Arts Centre, and is free and accessible 7 days a week.

Visit the program page to find out more about the current programming, and scheduled artists.
